Celestyal Journey FAQs

Hop aboard Celestyal Journey to explore the Mediterranean in style.

Ship FAQs

  • This ship is new for Celestyal Cruises, and was refurbished in 2023. We are excited to partner with Celestyal Cruises for the first time for our 2024 sailings on Celestyal Journey.

  • Celestyal Journey carries a maximum of 1,260 passengers in 630 cabins.

  • There are approximately 500 crew members to welcome you on board.

  • Celestyal Journey is truly international and attracts guests from around the world. For example, you may meet fellow passengers from North and South America and from across Europe.
  • Announcements may be made in several languages, but English remains the main language on board.

  • We appreciate reduced mobility means different things to different individuals, as we understand that individual capabilities, restrictions and requirements are likely to vary considerably. Our priority is always the safety and comfort of our passengers as well as complying with strict legal requirements relating to safety of life at sea and inland waterways. In order to achieve these objectives, passengers with reduced mobility should provide as much detail as possible at the time of booking. You can find more info on our mobility FAQ page.
  • To embark and disembark the ship, guests will need to access the gangway - this can vary in steepness and will always require ascending/descending metal steps. At some ports the ship may be at anchor, necessitating the use of ship’s tenders to transfer guests ashore. This requires descending and ascending steps to the tender platform and alighting a tender from the ship in open water. Walking will also be required during shore excursions.

Excursion FAQs

  • Celestyal Journey is due to berth alongside at all ports except Santorini, Mykonos and Milos which are expected to be at anchor. When the ship is at anchor, you will be required to access ship’s tenders to go ashore. There will be some steps down to the tender platform and as you are accessing smaller boats in the open water, you should be in good physical condition and steady on your feet. Please always accept help from the crew members.
  • Calls at tender ports will always be weather permitting.

  • You will be accompanied by a Riviera Tour Manager all the way and they will be your point of contact on board. They will provide daily briefings advising you of any important excursion information and meeting times.
  • Your excursion timings will also be printed in the daily programme.
  • Don’t forget to bring any tour headsets with you when you disembark for a tour (these will be provided in your cabin on board).

  • In your Travel documents which will be sent to you approx. 3 weeks prior to departure, you will be provided with your booking reference and a link to the on-board shore excursion booklet. You can then use this to access your booking and select your preferred shore excursion/s.
  • Shore excursions using a credit will need to be booked prior to travel. If your shore excursion is more than your credit amount, you will be required to pay the additional amount before your place is confirmed.
  • If you are unable to access your booking online, please give us a call and we will be happy to help.
